Have you used Guru Walks Tours?

Has anyone taken a Guru Walks tour? What’s your opinion of them? I signed up for two in Venice. They are tip paid. A good way to spend a couple hours wandering a neighborhood with a guide? Or a ”get what what you pay for” waste of €10? I’m thinking they are easy to cancel, no worry about refund if I change my mind or want to do something else.
As always, thanks for your help.

We’ve used them twice, but only in Spain (Seville and Madrid). Both guides were professional and knowledgeable. You can always sign up, start the tour, and if you don’t like the guide or tour, walk away. It’s not my style, but I did see it happen. Our guides were in college and very appreciative of the tips.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve also booked one in Venice. I picked one for the afternoon we arrive to orientate ourselves. What’s the right amount to tip. I was thinking 30 Euro for our family of four. Or is that me being too cheap.

Our guide looks to be a student age. I want to tip appropriately though

Thanks for the feed back. Guru’s website suggests €10 tip probably per person. If the guide does a good job, I’ll tip more. I signed up for two walks: area around Basilica Frari and the Jewish Ghetto on the same day with a visit to the basilica in between (only day I have free time).
I can’t imagine walking away from a tour even if it’s not my style. It just rude. You never know what you’ll learn or unexpected sights to discover.
