Guides for Etruscan sites from Orvieto

We will be staying near Orvieto from April 27 - May 1, and, among other activities, will be visiting Etruscan sites - towns, museums, necropoli. From my web search, it appears that tours in this area are all starting in either Rome or Civitavecchia, and are quite expensive - 500 Euro and up for a full-day tour (there will just be 2 of us). Anyone have suggestions for private guides, or a strategy for non-Italian speakers to get the most out of visits to places like Tarquinia, Cerveteri, and Tuscania? Self-guided eBook or audio tours might be OK, if they are detailed enough to help we'll have an Android tablet and a couple of iPods along. My one museum experience in Italy, the National Archeological Museum in Naples back in 1987, was severely marred by the total lack of any English labels to tell me what I was looking at, so I am trying to do better this time. Thanks.

Check out the Etruscan Museum at Chiusi, which isn't very far from Orvieto. It was quite new when we were there in 2003, and very good. For the price of admission we also got a guided tour into some nearby tombs. I'm sure the guide spoke English, because otherwise we wouldn't have understood. The tour needed to be reserved.
