Guided tour recommendations please!

My wife and I, along with another couple, will be in Rome for 4 days in April. Can anyone recommend any good guided tours? We'd like a tour of the Colosseum and the Forum, as well as a tour of the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Basilica. Thanks for the help!

Check out Walks of Italy - they are wonderful.

Also, check out Alessio Vicari Tours. Our friends used him in Rome and loved the time with him. It was just their family and him.

Four of us had an outstanding tour of the Vatican with contexttravel.com in 2013. We highly recommend them!

I used Daniella Hunt with Mirabilia Urbis Tours.
She was exceptional. Expensive for just two of us (my daughter and me, and I was "paying the freight" on this trip), but I chose to go that way because I wanted full attention. She gave us that and talked with us about what WE wanted from the tour and she based her tour on that.
For a couple of couples, I think she would be just the ticket. Website says private tour for 4 people is 90 euro per hour (that's 22.50 euro for each of the four people per hour)
Also, she is from North Carolina so she speaks American English (if that's important to you), yet she has lived in Rome for years.

We enjoyed her to the extent that I hired her as our guide for the Vatican Museum, St Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel.
I would not hesitate to contact her again if I were in Rome.

you can find her website at: http://www.rome-tours.com/index.php

We are in Rome right now. We scheduled tours with Walks of Italy. Yesterday we took the VIP tour of the Colosseum and today we had a tour with an early entrance into the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican. Both got us to areas that most tourists don't have access to. The guides were excellent.

We also loved Walks of Italy! here. We enjoyed the Pristine Sistine Tour, VIP Colosseum Underground Tour and the Rome as a Local driving tour. They were all absolutely excellent! If you are interested in a food tour we really enjoyed Eating Italy's Twilight Trastevere Food tour here Rome is an amazing place! Enjoy every moment!
