Its listed on the website of vatican museum.
The tour cannot be done by self ( only guided ). Costs about 30 euros. Found no mention of it in the book. Is it worth the money ? Any overview ?
If you like gardens then it's a good tour. After the tour you are able to visit the vatican museums without purchasing another ticket. Donna
As Donna said here last year, we've "heard mixed reviews on the garden tour." See her post from last year about this: http://www.ricksteves.com/graffiti/helpline/index.cfm?topic=52431 Others here have also heard mixed reviews of the gardens. Here's another review from someone who liked the garden tour: http://www.ricksteves.com/graffiti/helpline/index.cfm?topic=34903
Guided tour of vatican garden is not available late evening. I am planning to see vatican "under the stars" and i'd have to miss that if i want to include vatican garden tour. I feel like i will enjoy vatican "under the stars' more than the vatican garden. So probably give it a skip. Btw, what is scavi tour ? Didnt see mention of it in the book. regards
sriram
The scavi tour is a tour of the excavations under St. Peter's basilica. It is reported to be the burial place of St. Peter. It's a very hard tour to get on as they are very capacity controlled. If you are interested in doing this tour you should try to book as soon as you can. This tour does not include entry into the vatican museums, and you must be at least 15 years old to be allowed on the tour. You cannot take any backpacks or bags on the tour. Donna
I tried. Got a regret from museum authority saying they are full :(. May be next time. Thanks all for guiding me on this. Sriram
