Guided tour of Herculaneum & Pompeii

Hello everyone, I am looking for recommendation on a guided tour of Herculaneum & Pompeii. I don't usually do tours and am looking for an English speaking, playful/entertaining guide who will make learning about the history fun, especially for my teenage daughter. Thank you in advance.

Note that these two sites are not right beside each other, and one of them is 12-15 minutes on foot from the train stop. So you may want to plan, with your chosen guide, how best to use your time. Lunch is also a factor, because you cannot re-enter (i.e. a second time) either site on the same day's ticket. Pompeii (only) has food inside, but you may or may not wish to have the guide on the clock while you eat.

I booked a combined Pompeii and Herculaneum small group tour through Expedia and the supplier is Askos. The tour starts in Pompeii and the guide then escorts you by the train to Herculaneum. It's estimated to be 5.5 hours and is $105, including the train in the middle. Can't speak yet as to how entertaining but all the reviews seem to be really good. This is a bucket list thing for me so no matter what, I'll be enthralled, I'm sure!

Christine,
How was your tour with Askos? We are looking at booking with them.
