Guided tour for Palatine Hill and Roman Forum...HELP

Has anyone used a guided tour for just Palatine Hill and Roman Forum? At the official sight, Coopculture, I see the Guided tour times for the Roman Forum but not the Palatine Hill. Do they even offer guided tours of the Hill?

I used the tour company the hotel recommended - not good. I wish I had booked the tour offered by Walks of Italy. We used their Pristine Sistine tour and it was wonderful and I heard good things about other tours they offered.

Don't know if a company just does those 2 sites. Most will add in the Colosuem. I did the walks of Italy one with all 3 and the underground area and loved it.

Private guides, though more expensive can customize tours to your tastes. As a courtesy I have attached the information on these guides from our Rome guidebook.

Finding the best guided tours in Rome is challenging. Local guides are good but pricey. Tour companies are cheaper, but quality and organization are unreliable. To sightsee on your own, download my series of free audio tours that illuminate some of Rome’s top sights and neighborhoods. If you do hire a private Italian guide, consider organizing a group of four to six people from your hotel to split the cost (around €180 for a three-hour tour); this ends up costing about the same per person as going on a scheduled tour from one of the walking-tour companies listed below (about €25, generally expat guides). I’ve worked with each of these licensed independent local guides. They’re worth every euro. They speak excellent English and enjoy tailoring tours to your interests. Their prices (roughly €55-60/hour) flex with the day, season, and demand. Arrange your date and price by email.

Francesca Caruso loves to teach and share her appreciation of her city, and has contributed generously to this book (www.francescacaruso.com, [email protected]). Popular with my readers, Francesca understandably books up quickly; if she’s busy, she’ll recommend one of her colleagues. Carla Zaia is an engaging expert on all things Roman ([email protected]). Cristina Giannicchi has an archaeology background (mobile 338-111-4573, www.crisromanguide.com, [email protected]). Sara Magister, a Roman with doctorates in art history and archaeology, leads tours throughout the city ([email protected]). Giovanna Terzulli is a personable, knowledgeable art historian ([email protected]). Alessandra Mazzoccoli is experienced, easygoing, and good with all ages ([email protected]). Italian-American Sean Finelli, known as “The Roman Guy,” offers several walking tours and a trip-planning service (www.theromanguy.com).
Buena Fortuna!

Last time we were in Rome we toured the ruins of both the Forum and Palatine Hill with an archaeologist...it was fascinating!
There is a small kiosk that is near the end of the forum on the way towards the Colosseum; that's where we bought the tickets. We booked the tour in the morning and took the tour that same afternoon. If we didn't have an archaeologist or guide I don't think we really would have known what exactly we were looking at in the area. There are so many layers of cultures and religions, restorations, and reconstructions, and the ruins are difficult to decipher on your own. Good luck!
