Guided food tour of Trastevere or wander on your own

We will have two nights in Rome (have been twice before). We have never really explored the area of Trastevere much and am looking forward to doing that. We are looking at a food tour with multiple stops vs. just finding our own places to check out.

Wondering if anyone has thoughts on pros/cons of either…..
If just doing our own thing, please feel free free to offer up recommendations of restaurants in that area!
TIA

several years ago, we walked through campo de' fiori market, then through jewish ghetto and had lunch at carlo menta. sat outside table, shared table with others, had pizza, pasta and a tartufo dessert (chocolate or vanilla ice cream, yummy)
just a couple sites to check out and hope you find something that suits your fancy. good luck & have fun

One of our favorite food tours is the Eating Europe Trastevere tour. Really fun, great food and local history.
We've also wandered on our own.
Either works.

Our first visit to Trastevere- we just wandered, second did the food tour and more, third we stayed in Trastevere for a change.

We had a lovely dinner at

We (two couples) did the Eating Europe in the Trastevere and really enjoyed it. Another night we wandered over to the Jewish Ghetto and just stopped at a restaurant that turned out to be great.

We dined for lunch at Trattoria da Teo in Trastevere on Monday. Incredible. Reserve and enjoy!

We took the Trastevere food tour with Eating Europe and really enjoyed it. The only thing I'd do differently is not save it for our last night so that we could return to one (or more!) of the restaurants we visited for a full meal!
