Guided Colloseum Tour Question

Monday, March 20th is the first day the website Coopculture allows you to book the Colosseum underground tours starting in April and it appears as though it is sold out for my day on April 25th. Can anyone explain why it would sell out so fast or give me advice how I can obtain four tickets? Thank you in advance

They went on sale starting at 9 AM Rome time, 4 AM on the east coast this morning.
Our target dates for 4/16-4/23 were all gone within 2 hours.

Heidi, they go that quickly on the coopculture site because of the price; it's the most economical way by far to see it. Like Eve, people get up in the middle of the night to be ready to reserve tickets the minute they go on sale, and when they're gone, they're gone.

If you still want to see it, you'll likely have to book a tour with a private operator for significantly more cost. I haven't used any of them but Walks of Italy tours are very highly rated among RS posters. That one also includes the Forum and Palatine:

I've read good things from RS posters about Dark Rome and Through Eternity tours as well (also include Forum and Palatine):

There are a few ways to visit the underground area if the official English tours are sold out.

You can book a night tour through the official site. This will cost 20 euros and won't allow entry to the forum/palatine hill but you'll still visit the underground areas of the colosseum.

You can book an alternate language tour through the official site. If you do this you must read up on the history of the site as you won't be able to ask the guide questions in English and will want to know what you're seeing.

You can book with a private company. These tours are usually very expensive but come with a tour of the forum.

There are ticket brokers who will sell you tickets with or without a tour; I use Select Italy for tickets only and I sleep through the night.
