Hi everyone , just wanted to find out if you have any advice on guidebooks specific for Northern Italy. I have the up to year books from RS ( Venice and Italy).I need the travel guide to include the Dolomites.
Thanks
Pat
Steve's link is to a Lonely Planet article about the Dolomites.
Go here for LP's Northern Italy Travel Guide.
Out of stock in USA.
Oops! Thanks for noticing that, Margaret.
I used um...Blue Moon I think it was called. They have ones for Northern Italy, Central Italy, Southern Italy. Haven't actually taken the trip yet so I don't know how well they work but I found them pretty easy to understand/use.
I like the Cadogan guides, and they have an edition called "Venice, Venetia and the Dolomites."
Hi Liz - I am a huge "Blue" Guide fan. And I know there are also "Moon" Guides or handbooks - but a "Blue Moon" travel guide?
This book is excellent -
Blue Guide Northern Italy: From the Alps to the Adriatic, Twelfth Edition
Blue Guides are more for art, history and architecture that day to day travel advice, but they are moving more in that direction. If you want to know what painting is in what church, or what artist painted it - this is the book.
The Blue guide is the one I was thinking of. Apparently I was looking at way too many guidebooks!
Hi, just bought the Lonely planet Northern Italy .The second hand one was 12 dollars. There was only two left. Must be a popular book.I love Rick Steves books and hope he will have one just for Northern Italy one day.I have all of his books on Italy!! Oh I got it thru Amazon
