Guide books for Sicily

We will visit Sicily in May 2017 for two weeks, and I am wondering about guide books. Our library has a pretty poor selection.

I'm considering Michelin Green, Lonely Planet, Rough Guide, DK. Don't know if Rick Steves does a Sicily-specific guide, and we have a heap of Italy guides anyway. But nothing specific for Sicily.

Advice would be most welcomed.

I don't know if you will have access to the web while you travel, but here is an excellent source for all kinds of info and maps on Sicily.
I used it extensively to plan my trip to Sicily.

I used DK Sicily to plan the places I wanted to see. I may have borrowed DK Back Roads Italy as well (not worth buying it unless you are planning other road trips in Italy in the future). For hotels and travel tips, I relied mostly on a friend who'd been, this forum and TripAdvisor. TA was especially helpful once I was in Sicily.

I'd look at the scrapbooks for Sicily to get more information. I find them very useful for details both for tours I may take and for independent travel.

Lonely Planet is good. Michelin is very good if you will have a car. The Bestofsicily website is excellent. Once you have a general plan, I can give you specific recommendations.

I took the RS Sicily tour last year. They use the Lonely Planet Sicily travel guide. I found the Lonely Planet book not too well organized compared to your typical RS book.

I used Lonely Planet with a combination of Internet tourism (Wikitravel). I wish Rick Steve would do a Sicilian book, just combine with with Sardinian and the islands...

I like Rough Guide; used that, Lonely Planet and Cadogan.

I buy used books online through cheap books.com or half.com, that way I can buy several books for around $5 each that are only a year or two old, and use the one I like best.

"National Geographic Traveler: Sicily" - may be a few years old but still worth it

"Eat Smart in Sicily: How to Decipher the Menu, Know the Market Foods & Embark on a Tasting Adventure"
Author: Peterson, Joan

"Lonely Planet"

For detailed transport info, none of these books will obviously do. You'll have to consult the web. I got a lot of info from Italian websites, most of which were in Italian and not well translated.
