Guide Books for Sicily?

Anyone have good recommendations for guide books for Sicily? Rick Steeve's does not have a book on Sicily. Good books/websites would be helpful. Anyone have any suggestions? Much thanks!

Maggie, You might try the Lonely Planet books. In addition to full books, they also offer downloadable PDF versions of individual chapters ($4.95 each as I recall). You could also check DK Eyewitness Guides, Frommer's or other Guidebooks. Rick does in fact have a small Sicily book, but it only covers the places visited on his Sicily tour, and tour members all receive a copy (it's about 50 pages). If you want a more comprehensive book for Sicily, one of the versions I suggested above should work. Another option would be to send a note to ETBD and ask if they're willing to sell a copy of their Sicily guide. I'm not sure they would do that, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Happy travels!

In addition to Lonely Planet, I used Rough Guide Sicily and Cadogan Sicily. I know I buy too many guidebooks, but I figure if I get one stellar tip out of a book that is not found elsewhere, it is worth the price of the book.
