I've used Groupon and similar sites for travel before but never for international. They currently have a "deal" for 7 nights in Venice/Lake Como for about $1900 each in November. We had been planning a trip on our own to Venice, stay for a couple days then go to Cinque Terre for a few days. The situation is that my husband has Alzheimer's so we're trying to go asap and it seems like less planning to take the Groupon deal and not go to Cinque Terre. Thoughts?
Groupon is fronting for someone so who is the travel really with? We did a similar deal last May with Travel Zoo which worked out extremely well. On surface $1900 seems a little high for that time of year BUT it all depends on the details.
Excellent point - looks like Expedia - Round-trip airfare Manual-shift economy car rental for duration Four nights standard accommodations at Albergo dei Laghi Three nights standard accommodations at Antony Palace Hotel
Daily breakfast
CT in November not a good idea anyway.
November isn't a great time to visit Lake Como (or CT as previously mentioned). Any chance you could go a bit earlier?
Thanks for all the responses! The trip dates weren't very flexible and it sounds like the time of year could be better so I'm going to keep looking for the right trip for us :)
