A friend is part of a group of 20 (10 adults, 10 kids aging from 12 to 26) basing in Rome and Florence for 4 nights each later this month. They are planning a few day trips including Venice and Siena. I was just looking for any tips/suggestions that might be good for a large group that mind not come to mind being a one or two person traveller. They won't all be together all the time, but just looking for some suggestions. Thanks.
I saw lots of groups of schoolkids in Italy on what must have been field trips. They all had matching hats to make it easier for the adults to keep track of them. It may sound silly, but it clearly worked. I would also suggest appointing a few of the people as "ambassadors" to remind the group as necessary that they need to be sensitive to their surroundings and not overwhelm wherever they happen to be. I can easily picture a restaurant, shop or gelateria where a group of that size could be insufferable, if they have the wrong attitude. Best wishes.
Just remember that the group moves at the speed of its slowest member.
