Group of 8 Wants Convenient Tuscany Villa & Suggestions - WIne/Cooking

We have 4 couples with all of them but my husband and I having never been to Italy. Flying in from the US to Italy and will be there for 10 days. Would love to visit Cinque Terre (for me), Florence then onto Tuscany. Any suggestions? Is this too much for 1 trip? Need ideas on where to stay and what to visit as I'm overwhelmed with all the great options. Thanks for all replies.

Beverly, You could easily pick a villa in Tuscany as "home base" for your entire trip and see CT and Florence by train from the nearest town to you. They are very doable day trips from Tuscany (Florence is a city within the region of Tuscany. I have seen a lot of villas on these sites: Traveltuscany.net Homeaway.com
Vrbo.com Good luck!

Check out www.parkervillas.com also. I've had good luck with VRBO but did my first Italian villa rental with Parker when I was responsible for the happiness of 14 people. if something goes awry it is easy to get help from them. Direct rentals are probably a little less expensive but this might make it easier for you!

I've rented from Wimco.com several times and they are a stellar agency. I usually use Homeaway or VRBO in Italy as I've only been in small groups, but if I had a large group like you, Wimco might be my 1st choice as they got great properties that get less pricey the more people you have. They can give you great recs on where to stay/what to do based on your interests. They are also great about telling you all the downsides of each place. This past summer they moved my husband and I from one house to another due to a construction project starting before we even arrived. Got a much nicer house at the same price. italy.com is a good site for wine/cooking classes, etc. and I've booked site/opera tickets through them before. With a large group, I bet if you based yourself in 1 place not too far from Florence where you could day-trip everywhere you would never run out of options in 10 days. There's enough variety in the area that not everyone has to do the same thing every day either. That way you can have fun and not have to play tour group leader the whole time :) Sounds like a fun time! EDIT: selektitaly.com Ugh...spell Selekt with a c not a k though....security measures here.
