Looking for input from anyone who has used this service from Italy to Barcelona. I know ryan air will be cheaper and faster but we are taking our sweet time...
Any impressions, positive/negative, or info on other companies offering the same service. Thanks.

Used it in April 2007 and would do it again. Lots of college kids on spring break seemed to be aboard, but our cabin was quiet. The boarding process was a little frustrating because we couldn't tell exactly what was happening or where we were supposed to be(it's Italy!), but all turned out well.

Bear in mind that the twin car ferries used by Grimaldi on this route (Cruise Roma and Cruise Barcelona) are the largest and swankiest of any comparable ferry operated by any Italian-flagged shipping company in the Mediterranean, with the possible exception of La Superba and La Suprema operated by Grandi Navi Veloci (which are a tad smaller but perhaps more luxurious).
