Do I need to obtain a Green Pass, or is my vaccination card from the US enough?

Green Pass only available to EU citizens

Hi all,
I heard from a friend in Italy that some places still require a green card, what I'm not seeing is how to get one. Anybody recently traveled there who can help? We are leaving at the end of April.

Unless you are a EU citizen you can’t get a Green Pass
Your CDC card will be accepted wherever a Green Pass is required
Requirements are changing, you won’t need either after May 1

We just returned had no issues using our vaccine card and wasn’t even asked for it very often
