Greatly Revised Itinerary HELP - leaving less than 1 month

Hi All,
I wanted to get some feedback on the below itinerary for my September Trip to Italy and Amsterdam:

Rome - 3 nights
Sorrento - 3 nights with day trips exploring Naples, Pompeii, Amalfi, Positano, and Ischia
Orvieto - 2 nights
Florence - 3 nights with daytrip to Siena
Amsterdam - 3 nights (flight to get there)

Questions:
1 - Is it possible to do Naples and Pompeii in one day from Sorrento? Or is it better to devote 1 day to each? Which does one do first?
2 - What are some must do activies in Orvieto? or is there another favorite Umbrian Hill town to stay in?
3 - Should we visit Lucca instead of Siena?
4 - Has anyone ever heard of/flown Meridiana airline? I had never heard of them but they popped up as a cheap flight from Florence - Amsterdam.

Thanks so much for all of your help. I appreciate any suggestions or feedback.

Cheers,

Jinny

Try visiting the island of Procida instead of Ischia. The islands are within sight of each other and Procida has no tourists.

I've been to both Siena and Lucca. Lucca has its charms but Siena is definitely the first choice. No question.

Naples (museum)and Pompeii (ruins) make for one very long exhausting day espec since you need to travel rd trip to Sorrento. But sure it is possible and logical for the content.

Siena is a better visit than Lucca to me by far.
I like Orvieto but love Assisi.

If you have time, I would do Pompeii and Naples on separate days. I would also consider going to Vesuvius the same day as Pompeii, all on your way from Rome to Sorrento. Another day, I would visit Naples (I think that it's better after Pompeii), via hydrofoil or regular ferry from Sorrento.

Besides going to the National Archaeological Museum, other things to do in Naples are the Subterranean, enjoy some pizza, explore a bit, do Rick's walking tour. Oh, and try to cross the street without dying! ;^)
