Great restaurant suggestions for Sorrento

Hi, Giangilberto from Milan, my advice is to treat yourself to something special, if you have the budget to invest in a unique experience, there are several Michelin-starred restaurants worth visiting. Below are my top three picks all of which I’ve personally tried during my various trips to the Amalfi and Sorrento coasts over the years:

What sets this place apart is the chef and owner, Peppe Guida. He is a unique individual deeply connected to his land, creating incredible dishes by skillfully using the abundant local ingredients it offers.
The famous "Peppe fai tu" (Peppe, you decide) menu is a true delight for the palate.

All the restaurants I mentioned to you have a Michelin star.
Lorelei is located in Sorrento, Antica Osteria Nonna Rosa da Peppe Guida is in Vico Equense, and Don Alfonso is in Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi.
My main piece of advice is to book as soon as possible, as these restaurants are in very high demand. Also, for the restaurants located outside Sorrento (in the towns I mentioned), it is best to take a taxi or ask the restaurant directly if they offer a shuttle service for guests.
When booking, you might also want to mention that it is for a 50th anniversary, these types of restaurants pay great attention to detail and might reserve a better table for you or perhaps provide a special dessert for the occasion it never hurts to ask.

TavernAllegra in the Old Town, down an alley. Yes, it's somewhat touristy. Yes, the waiters sing. Yes, it's kind of in a cavern. Yes, we twice dined there in 5 nights. But the food is really good, better than it needs to be given the entertainment. The fish preparation, like at most Sorrento ristorantes, is special.

For an anniversary? Maybe not fancy enough...but then again why not?!

I'll second Tavern Allegra. We had a nice lunch there 2 weeks ago. The owner, Giuseppe, came to our table and we had a good conversation. There were plenty of seats available at lunch, but he recommended a reservation for dinner, "it gets lively when the music starts."

If you want an upscale trattoria rather than a ristorante, I would highly recommend LO STUZZICHINO, which is widely considered among the best places to eat in the Sorrento area. We spent four nights in Sorrento this past May and had two dinners there; we enjoyed the first so much that we returned the following night! It's listed in the Michelin guide as a BibGourmand... service and the atmosphere are lovely and the owner, Mimmo, is ever-present and quite charismatic. His Mom and Dad work in the kitchen and the food represents some of the best examples of coastal Campanian food Ive ever enjoyed. (I also like LE TORRE ONE FIRE near Massa, but they do not offer pick-up service and a taxi works out to about 120 e for the Rt from sorrento city)

Located in the village of Sant Agata, the restaurant will pick you up at your hotel in a dedicated van and return you after dinner.

Clientele on the nights we were there seemed to be split, with about half Italian and the other half tourists; some nights they have music which was really terrific on the nights we were there... If you prefer quiet, ask to sit in the glassed-in terrace room.
