Prefer to visit Naples and the ancient sites via the Vesuviana, but there don't appear to be any great places to stay along the train route and not in Naples. Do you know any? Thanks.

Naples has plenty of places to stay, including very posh accommodations. Same with Sorrento, at the other end of the Circumvesuviana line. I've never stayed in between the two, but I'm sure there are nice hotels somewhere. What you are unlikely to find along the Circumvesuviana corridor is an Agriturismo. That area is very urbanized, it is not in the countryside. Have you done any searches online?

Easy Bed Hostel in Pompeii. So central, right on the train line and they serve full course meals for dinner. Real home cooking. It was an amazing find and we will definitely return.
