Gratuities in Rome

We have made arrangements to be picked up at the airport and driven to our hotel near the train station. Likewise, we will be driven to the port for our cruise and then back to Rome after the cruise. What would be a normal gratuity for example when the cost of a transfer for the two of us amounts to 63 euros? Larry

A few euros will be fine. Just as a side note, you can get transfers to your hotel for 45 euros. A great company I always use is romecabs.com. They do airport transfers and also trips out to the cruise port. Donna

We used Romecabs and paid 45e and I gave a 5e tip, which may seem excessive to others but that ride was sooo worth it and our driver was a very sweet man! Also, we were all the way out near the Vatican and only paid that much...

When in Rome, do as the Romans do... There is great transportation to Termini from the airport. You might want to read up, unless you really want to spring for a taxi. You would need a few euros with you when you land. Of course, this depends on your bags beinng able to roll and not TOO large.
