Where can I purchase a GPS chip used or new for my Tom Tom that I can use in Italy ?

Do they take a 'chip'? We are just downloading from the tomtom.com website the map of Italy. I beleive it is $39.00. We've had our TOMTOM for about 2 years, maybe the new ones take a 'chip'?

Joe, my two year old TOMTOM is updated when I link it to their website, and buy and download updates. I beleive? that some of their new models may store data on a SD card. Other GPS's operate that way, and people buy the cards on EBay, and sell them when they get home. Go to the TOMTOM website and check this out for your model of GPS. They are also quite helpful when you call them, although they are going to recommend their new SD cards.

Whatever you do, don't use FactoryOutletStore.com Nothing but problems. And their cost is much higher than Amazon or probably TomTom direct.
