I want to add Western Europe only in my tom tom when I drive in Italy. Italy is still part of Western Europe, right? I am now confused when I see it listed separately as the BOOT, from the other western countries. Please clarify for GPS purposes.
Also, can I use the Italian car's cigarette lighter to charge my GPS like what we do in North America?
Yes it is still part of western Europe....but RS loves it soooo much, it gets its own category ;) And yes, your cigarette lighter connector will work the same in Italy.
Yes and yes. Italy is separated out as the boot because it is RS's favorite country. At least that seems the most likely reason... You will love having your tom tom in Italy. I had mine last year and it saved me from so many parking tickets. I even managed to drive in Florence without getting into an accident or getting lost, LOL! I don't recommend that, though. I would suggest that you also bring your wall charger for your tom tom as sometimes driving doesn't completely charge it and you may want to use it while walking. That was my one regret because there were a couple of times I could have really used it when trying to walk to a specific site.
