Thoight this would interest you lot, Baunei in Sardinia has banned the use of Google Map as it is costing the town too much in rescuing stuck car and lost hikers who blindly follow the app! Hope this link works...

They can't actually ban the use of Google maps as they have no way of preventing people using them. All they can do is put up advisory signs but we all know that many people will simply ignore such signs.
I know JC, and thats what they have done. But i thought it was an interesting example in not blindly following these apps!
Not just Google, and not just Italy. Any Sat-Nav system used anywhere without looking where you are going can give problems.
It is a regular problem in Cornwall: https://www.cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-news/latest-satnav-fail-sees-lorry-1580543
And the problem of Sat-Navs directing you down routes you are not allowed to go (but other people are, so it is a "legit" route). For example ZTL's, height limits, weight limits.
I wonder what the drivers that got lost/stuck thought that big pane of glass in front of them was there for; just to kill bugs?????
