Good Trattorias in Rome?

What are some of the good (and perhaps cheap?) trattorias in Rome? Thanks!

We have had good luck with those recommended in Steves's Rome book. What area of Rome will you be staying in?

Gio -

We are huge fans of Ristorante Al 34 near the Spanish Steps. You can find it at Via Mario De Fiore 34. We stumbled upon it one evening during our trip late. Despite being in such a touristy area it definitely had some locals. The food was delicious and fair priced for the area. The waiter treated us like family and the owner Nicolo came and talked to us for 15 minutes. We intended to try somewhere different each day but after that we went back the next night and it was even better.

Antico Falcone. It's north of the Vatican and not too far from the Hotel Nova Domus.

Hi gio,
We enjoyed sitting outside at Trattoria da Lucia in Trastevere.

We found ourselves in Trastevere several times when it came to dinner...fun area and about as inexpensive as it gets. Also the old Ghetto area, near the Synagogue for good food within reason. And IMO, there is no Italian word for "cheap"...trust me on this one :-)

Ristorante Alfredo on Principe Amadeo (near Termini). Absolutely the best meals AND service I have ever had.

DO NOT MISS!!!
