We will be visiting Gubbio on a Tuesday in a few weeks and are hosting another couple for a special treat while visiting them. Can you recommend a nice place to have a late lunch either in town or in the surrounding area?

Last November we stayed in Gubbio for several nights and greatly enjoyed eating at La Crescia Mia and at Orto Osteria dalla Terra. They are right next door to each other and you will want to have reservations. Orto is unfortunately closed on Tuesdays, but I thought I’d mention it in case your plans changed.

You are right and Google is wrong. I see their website says closed Tuesdays. Worth checking, in case their website is out of date —- I’m in Italy now and will try calling for you.

Oh my gosh, that would be amazing… thank you! I had also seen a nice restaurant (good reviews) called Picchio Verde but they too show that they are closed on Tues.☹️ because we are hosting our friends I want buttoned-down reservations somewhere. If you have time to check while you are there I would really’ appreciate it but certainly understand if you don’t.

Talked with the restaurant—- they are indeed closed on Tuesdays. So sorry! There is another restaurant, actually a wine bar with antipasti-type food, just up the street from the two we liked. It’s called Vineria Dei Re and looks really good if a light lunch is OK.
