Does anyone have a good place in mind to stay in this villiage of Montorosso, Chinque Terre? We are staying 3 nights and the train will leave us here.
We stayed at Albergo Margherita last September. It was a great choice. It's a very modern hotel and we really enjoyed it. The best part was the breakfast buffet; it was a large spread with all sorts of items. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Have a great time on the Cinque Terre.
Just back from 5 days in lovely and quaint Monterosso. We stayed at Hotel Stella Marina in the old part of the town, very convenient. My single was 90E and the doubles were around 130E with nice breakfast on the roof terrace, which is available for guest use anytime and has a view over town to the sea. Bonus: they will make omelettes if you request them. Fresh daily croissants from the panateria across the tiny street and are wonderful. Rooms small and up many steps but my daughter had a private terrace and a nicer room in the rear than I had over the street. On Via Septembre 11, believe it or not. Max was helpful and sent us to the best restaurant of our whole trip in Italy right down the street. I moved to the Agave on the sea in the newer part of town for 70E single per night. Huge window overlooking the sea in very simple clean room and no breakfast. But, great cafe right across the walk on the beach with same great croissants with in a.m. and good lunches. Agave only had only 5 or so rooms on the second floor and is located a few doors to the left when you exit the train station. Neither hotel was quiet, so keep looking if that's a priority. You'll have to stay away from the water for quiet in Monetrosso.
