Can anyone recommend a nice and affordable place to stay in Modena or Parma? Thanks in advance for some ideas and estimated prices!
I would love to see an answer to this question -
When in Rome:
I did not stay in Parma or Modena - but I visited both towns and enjoyed them very much (the food is unbelievable!).
We stayed just a few kms from Modena in a village called Castelvetro. There is a wonderful little inn there called Locanda Del Feudo (they have a website - just google it). The inn is small - 6 or 8 rooms but they are all suites - very clean and well appointed. It is run by two brothers. They are helpful innkeepers. The restaurant is a treasure (ask for the regional tasting menu). The prices are very reasonable as this place is off the beaten path.
Castelvetro is a cute little village. It is very close to Maranello (where Ferraris are manufactured). The Ferrari museum is a lot of fun - I am not particularly a car guy but I really enjoyed it.
Have fun.
I found the site and it looks wonderful! Unfortunately we will only have 2 short days and have to visit some relatives in Modena etc, so in the end we decided on the hotel Real Fini on Via Emilia. It's central, 4 star, and we got a great deal on Venere.com for 63 Euro/night. I'll post a review once we get back!
