Which safe neighborhoods and moderately priced hotels are suggested for an April 2022 trip to Palermo?

Look at the corridor along Via Roma and Via Maqueda (both run parallel to each other, north to south) between I 4 Canti (Piazza Pretoria) and the Politeama Theater on the northern side of this corridor.
Closer to the Teatro Massimo and the Teatro Politeama, near the Via Ruggero Settimo, is even better. I would avoid the area south of Piazza Pretoria near Ballaro' market, Albergheria area.
