Good Family Hotel in Rome

Me, my wife, and our two young children will be in Rome for 3 days this summer. Can anyone recommend a nice, reasonable hotel, in a good location? Preferably one that would have a "family room" where we could possible bring in a cot?

Hi Nick.
What's your budget? Reasonable is such a relative term that it helps to know what that means to you. Also, how old are the children? Will you have a stroller? That could impact recommendations too. We like Palazzo Olivia, which is in a convenient location, but it's an apartment situation. You could look them up. There is a tiny elevator.

Palazzo Olivia is great http://www.palazzo-olivia.it/ if they have an apartment available for your dates. Very convenient to the centro storico, near Piazza Navona and Campo dei Fiori. Have not stayed with Cross Pollinate, but they get good reviews and have some nice properties http://www.cross-pollinate.com. The apartment situation usually involves one or two bedrooms and a sofa sleeper. Always nice to have a little refrigerator for water and snacks or light meals.

This is where our family stayed on our first visit to Rome. It was also our very first apartment rental, and it turned out to be a PERFECT apartment in a perfect location. The owners are super nice and helped us on several occasions. We also had 2 adults and 2 children like you. It was very nice to have 2 separate sleeping areas plus a full kitchen with a big fridge. We stopped at the super market and bought some cereal, milk, soft drinks for the stay. I usually got up first in the morning and went out to the street vendors and bought fresh fruit and croissants and brought them back for our breakfast. Having soft drinks and snacks available at all hours was very enjoyable and HUGELY affordable. http://www.vrbo.com/320914#comments
