Good accommodations for Veneto region

Any suggestions for those who have been in this region. We will have a car and want a location to explore the area. I was thinking of staying in Verona, but should we stay outside of the city, or in another city? Any ideas on a place to stay?

I liked staying in Verona. We didn't have a car there, but if we had we could have parked it by the apartment we rented. It was also an easy walk into the old area, where driving is limited. We paid 80 euro per night for the one bedroom apartment.

Hello Susan and Monte,

Verona is great, but a nightmare with a car. Vicenza is the best one with a car. Perhaps you can find a hotel in any of those towns with a parking arrangement. Stay in one town as a base, leave the car parked for a few days, and use the trains to navigate b/t Verona, Vicenza, and Padova. Happy travels,
