Gondola ride over the Mont Blanc range

My husband and I will be taking the Gondola ride at the end of May. We will be backpacking and coming from Milan. I am looking for info. on the best/quickest way to get from Milan to La Palud. Also info. from La Palud to the Helbronner lift. I would appreciate info. on modes of transport as well as timetables if possible.

Can't help you with timetables, but do check on the weather. At then end of May, you're still likely to run into clouds and winds that will close down the lifts.
