Gondola ride - nighttime vs. daytime?

I would plan it for around sunset or just after. You get the beautiful light on the buildings. The prices increases from 80€ (for 40 minutes) to 100€ after 7pm, and you might have to pay extra for singing. If you want singing, check with the gondolier before boarding.

Absolutely do it in the evening, even if it costs more. Daytime maybe if you really want to see the palazzos in detail from the canal level. Remember the canals are the main transportation routes, so during the day, they are full of other boats doing daily business. And full of day tripping tourists getting their gondola rides in.

I’d do it during the day bc as was previously mentioned, you can see the architecture better and you are more likely to be bitten by mosquitoes in the evening, especially on the water
