we are planning to do so called Golden Triangle from Milan in a day. Does that matter if we go to Bellagio first or Menaggio or do Varenna first? Some folks I saw in other threads to head first to Bellagio and than do remaining one hence asking.
Varenna -> Bellagio
Bellagio-> Menaggio
Menaggio->Varenna
Whether you do Menaggio or Bellagio first is pretty much of a coin toss. I would do your touring of Varenna last so you are where you need to be to get the train back to Milan.
I’m with Joe on this one. Although I would skip Menaggio. It’s pretty but not so dramatically different from the rest. So you might as well concentrate on the two more popular, albeit smaller ones.
I think it depends on when you arrive in Varenna. When you get to the dock, take the first available boat, whether it is going to Bellagio or Menaggio. Otherwise, you might get stuck waiting another 30 to 40 minutes for the next boat to anywhere.
Thank you guys. Do you have any recommendation for restaurants which serves veggie food :) We are ok with diary but no meat / egg.
