We wanted to know if anyone has gone to Naples, Capri, and Almafi Coast off season. We love to go and live like locals. Did this in Sicily last year. Does anyone know if towns will have restaurants ect open and what towns to stay in for Christmas and New years.
Thank you for any imput
I have heard that Naples is known for their Christmas celebrations.
Thank you so much! Appreciate any and all feedback.
Sorrento with its wonderful Christmas decorations puts on special events for the Christmas/New Year period. Having a larger resident population you will find plenty open and going on. Here is the town's programme for last year to give you some idea.

Some hotels sell special Christmas packages. It is a very popular holiday destination for Italian visitors.
Thank you, this is most helpful!!
We spent a week in Sorrento in mid-Dec a few years ago. Very festive in the town and plenty of restaurants open. The hotels fill up Dec 26 through New Year's so get a reservation ASAP. It is a great time to go to Pompeii. We were there on a cold (45 degree) day with beautiful sun and about 12 other people. Divine!
Naples is also a great day trip.
You might also want to see the Luci d'Artista in Salerno, huge Christmas lights all over the corso....from November until January

The Presepe street (the stores with all the nativity scenes-not sure which one it is, hopefully somebody else can help?) in Naples is very busy but awesome with all of the different figurines and types of nativity scenes....
Thank you everyone. These comments and links have been most helpful.
