Going to Montepulciano in early june (Cantucci Palace/Cantina)

We're driving to Montepulciano during our one week stay in Tuscany and would like to visit the Cantucci Family Winery. Has anyone been there recently?

We visited Montepulciano last Sept and Contucci Winery. There wines were very good and we bought a few bottles to bring home. It's right on the main square.

We visited the cantina last May, and it was definitely worth a visit. It's actually just around the corner from the square, down the lane a bit, but you'll find it. They're not open all day, so if the door's closed, just check back in a bit and then take the tour. The wine is excellent.

Hey Mike, are you also going to Montalcino? There are some great wines to be had there as well.

We were there a few years ago. It is easy to find and Adamo will take very good care of you! Buon Viaggio!

Thanks for the details everyone. Yes we are planning to drive through Montalcino and Montepulciano in the same day.

Mike, I was there earlier this month. While the tour of the wine cellar was interesting, my wife and I and the three other couples traveling with us didn't think the wine was all that great. Obviously a matter of personal choice. We also visited Montalcino (had some excellent Brunello there) and Pienza the same day. Pienza was our favorite town, by far, of those three towns. Very picturesque and easily walkable in a short period of time. Some of the best wines we had while in Tuscany for a week were house wines at restaurants in small towns off the beaten path. Sometimes, we think we were the only Americans in town, a neat experience. Happy travels. Dan

Make sure Adamo sees your RS guide book. He seemed delighted to show us his picture in the book. We were there with some tourists from Japan, and he made every one of them look at the page in the book with the picture of him and Rick!
