Going from Zurich to Amalfi

My family and I are flying into Zurich to meet up with family and then are plan is to make our way by train down through Grindelwald and then down through Rome to Amalfi Coast. We have two weeks. Is this possible or are we biting off more than we can chew :) ? This is our first time going. Is it possible to fly into Zurich and Fly out of Naples? Or is there a better airport?
Thank you ahead of time

Whether 2 weeks is enough depends on how many stops you plan and how long to stay at each location

Rome should get 4 nights
AC should get at least 4 nights

Yes you can fly in to Zurich Out of Naples- that is called “open jaw” or a multi city flight.
Use google flights to research and do an Advanced Search to see your options
Do not search for two one way flights-that is not the same

If Naples isn’t a good option then Rome is next best
Plan to go all the way to AC then back to Rome for your final nights and fly home from there

This itinerary means a lot of time on trains

Give Grindelwald enough time! We spent a magical week there. Liked it much better than the Amalfi Coast.

It depends on what you hope to see. We spent 12 days in Sorrento touring the Amalfi Coast and the Vesuvius excavation sites.

Have a look at the historic weather and snow cover in Grindelwald for March and April before locking in any plans.

It's best to avoid the weeks before and after Easter. Good luck!

Hi
We have friends who line in the Zurich area (we live in Minnesota). We have visited them several times and then traveled-on to see other regions.

We took a day trip from Zurich to Lugano (on Italian border near Como) and although a pleasant and fast ride, it took about 2 hours (one way). that's a long part of a day.

We're looking at going to Italy this October and I toy with the idea of landing in Zurich and visiting our friends for a few days and then heading on to Ravenna for our Italy visit. The train trip would be 7.5 hours!! Given that there's transfers, I don't think we would do it at night, so that's a full day of vacation spent on a train.

In one of our visits, we landed in Zurich and stayed for several days. Then we flew to Naples for "Italy" and flew back to Zurich (to visit our friend's home-town near the Matterhorn. The point being, flying is fast!!

P.S. we stayed in Salerno so we could easily do day trips to 3 places: Positano, Pompeii, Paestum. Paestum was our favorite place and is SO overlooked by tourists! Salerno had good restaurants and was pleasant to walk at night.
