going from cinque terre back to firenze rediredi airport

Our return flight leaves Firenze airport at 1:35 pm on a weekday in September. Our preference would be to leave cinque terre early that morning(haven't decided from which village yet) . From what I can see there are no early trains so perhaps a bus is the only option(we won't have a car).

Can someone help me on how and where to check bus schedules?

thanks
Marc

On Trenialia I put in next wedesday (since times are only available for 7 days out) and I used 7am. There is a train at 7:35 that leaves Monterosso and arrives in Florence at 10:32. It has a connection in La Spezia and then again in Pisa.

The next train leaves Monterosso at 8:59 and gets to Florence at 11:32 with 1 connection in Pisa.

There is an early train at 6:20 from Monterosso and arrives in Florence at 9:32.

And what will you do if Trenitalia calls one of it's infamous strikes on your day of travel??? I would want to already be in my city of departure on the morning of my fly home day.

Thanks for the quick replies.!! I did not know of the 7 day max forward look at trenitalia.

As to the strike possibilities how real a threat is that?

From Florence train station to the airport adds another half hour by bus. Strikes can happen any time. They usually are announced in the media in advance and on signs in stations. The regional trains from La Spezia to Florence are not part of the "essential" mainline service that continues to run sporadically during strikes. Regional train schedules are not yet published past June 14, but also not likely to change much.

marc,

Could you clarify "firenze rediredi airport"? Are you referring to travel from the C.T. to Firenze Rifredi station to FLR (Peretola) airport?

As the others have mentioned, it's an easy trip from the Cinque Terre to Florence. There's always the chance of a "disruption" caused by a strike or whatever, but those are announced in advance so you'll have lots of warning. Also, you'll probably to warned by the locals that a strike is forthcoming.

Which of the five towns are you staying in? That will have a slight bearing on transportation towns. The quickest route would likely be train to Firenze SMN and then Taxi to the airport (I wouldn't bother with Buses). The fare is "fixed" (higher for those with lots of heavy luggage) and it's a short trip since the airport is relatively close to town (depending on traffic of course).
