Going Clockwise around the Amalfi Coast

I purchased Rick's Amalfi Coast guidebook, and I learned there are SEPTA buses that take you around the Amalfi Coast. Rick's itinerary takes you from Sorrento around the peninsula counterclockwise to Salerno. I am going in April, but I was wondering if I can take the SEPTA buses from Salerno clockwise around to Sorrento. I think he said in the summer the road is one way towards Salerno, but I will be going in the off-season. I hope this question makes sense, and thanks for your help.

To Jean: You didn't say where you'd be driving from, but bringing a car into Positano is NOT a good idea. Try to avoid doing this if you can. Take a boat from Positano to Amalfi. Just walk down to the Positano waterfront and you'll see the ticket booths and schedules. It's easy & fun. When you go to Amalfi, be sure to take a bus up the hill to Ravello. Ravello is a highlight of the entire peninsula.

Hi Chris,
The buses are called SITA and they go back and forth to all the major towns along the Amalfi coast. You can buy a 3 day pass for about 15 EURO and it includes the MetroDelMare hydrofoils which are a great way to view the coast and ca also get you from one town to the next.
ENJOY!

Thank you, Mary. Is it really as easy to hop on and off the bus with an all day pass as people say it is? I have these images of waiting for a long time for a bus, only to have this huge mob show up and push their way onto the bus in front of me. I will be there in late March, so I don't know if that will be much of a problem, will it?

Question also: We'll be in Positano for 3 days end of May; we'll have a rental car that we're parking for the 3 days. Should we take the SITA bus to Amalfi then back by ferry or will it be to crowed at this time of year.

They say the drive is horrendous but the private tours are so expensive!
Thanks,
Jean

Hi Tom, we're starting out in Como and making our way South to Positano then back to Rome and dropping the car in South Rome then flying out a couple days later. This is a 25 day trip and we need the car for most of it. The B&B we're staying in has free parking so I thought it would be easier to drive right to the hotel with our luggage. There are 4 of us and 2 of us cannot climb stairs very well. I understand the drive can be scary but if we take it slow is this doable.
