My husband and I will be taking a 10 day trip to Italy this November and will end our trip with a 2 night stay in Rome. I am looking for a hotel, B&B, or apartment that will make for a glorious end to what I'm sure will be an unforgetable trip! I currently have reservations at the Hotel Sant' Anselmo, which looks absolutely lovely! However, I'm concerned about how far away it is from the city center, and how we will get from place to place. Has anyone stayed at a luxury, 4-5 star hotel within close proximity to Rome's main attractions? I'd absolutely LOVE a room with a private terrace overlooking Rome. In fact, having at least a rooftop terrace to enjoy is at the top of my list! Since it is our last 2 nights in Italy, we're willing to go for broke a bit and stay someplace really special. I've scoured the review websites, travel guides, and booking services, but can't seem to pull the trigger on one. Any ideas? Also, can anyone tell me how it works in November with regard to those rooftop terraces? Especially the ones where you can dine. Do a lot of them close for the winter? (Please say no!) And last question, can anyone tell me if there is still any fall color on the trees by early November? (Please say yes!) Thanks so much for the help!
