It is a decent article. I was in Rome in September, having been there 3 or 4 times before over 20 years, and I would agree. Things have passed, but new places have popped up, the vibe has changed...I suppose a bit of a disappointment for some, but to be honest a sign of a vibrant culture...stagnation is death. I think similar can be said for Amsterdam, maybe London, I will find out about Madrid later this year, not all bad, just different.
