I was just recently on a cruise with a stop in Naples Italy. I've been before and have seen Pompeii and other sights cruise ships offer for their excursions, so I decided to take Rick's advice and I contacted Giovanna and Francesco to book a private 8 hour tour of the Amalfi Coast, which I had never been to before!
As a solo traveler I am still getting used to doing things like this on my own. 8 hours is a long time to be with two people you just don't know.
When Giovanna met me at the port that morning I literally felt right at ease with her! After getting to the car I met her husband, Francesco, again making me feel right at ease!
As we drove to Sorrento towards the Milky Mountains, there was a few stops we made for pictures, all the while explaining the history, and other locations of interest, such as the island of Capri, which I am definitely coming back for with them again in the future!
We drove through Sorrento, which by the way was where Francesco grew up, and headed over the Milky Mountains to Positano. We spent a good amount of time there. Just absolutely breathtaking!!!
We then headed to Amalfi. I choose not to make a stop there, only because I heard from Giovanna that I may want the extra time in the next stop of Ravelo, and she was spot on!
Ravelo was almost sensory overload! It was truly one of the most spectacular places I've been to!
We spent a great deal of time there, and after about 45 minutes of walking through just amazing views and learning the history of it, Giovanna took me to a fabulous little restaurant called Trattoria Cumpá Cisimo! Excellent choice for lunch!!!! I was also pleasantly surprised at the end of meal and I was ready to pay my check, this wonderful 86 year old woman, who I imagine was an owner, paid for my lunch! Who does that nowadays to a stranger! It was really just the icing on the cake for a remarkable, memorable day!
We had little time left of tour before I had to return to the ship, so they decided to take me on a small tour if the city of Naples!
They returned me back to the ship in plenty of time, and I was actually a little sad to say goodbye. It was like saying goodbye to a good friend that you won't be seeing for a while!
I have been on many cruises since I started cruising in 2005,so many excursions, private tours, etc. This tour was by far the very best I have ever been on, all thanks to Giovanna and Francesco!!!
Words can not express my deepest gratitude to you both, and I look forward to seeing you again in the future, and then we can do Capri together!
This is really the first time I have taken the time to a review on a tour before, but I was just so elated by the whole experience, I just had to pass this along to anyone heading to the Naples area.
Please, please contact them. You will not be sorry in the least!

Thanks you again!!!
My family also booked Giovanna to pick us up in Naples to drive us to Sorrento; booked a tour of Sorrento with them; booked a tour of amalfi coast. Then the strike hit and we didn’t know how we would get back to Rome for our flight home . Giovanna and Francesco to the rescue, they drove us to Rome. I cannot say enough about our experience with Giovanna and her team. She is so responsive always promptly answered emails before our trip. I highly recommend them.
I am considering a guide and driver for parts of a trip in March. They sound like a good option. Do you mind posting how much you paid and if anyone else has info on their prices and services.
I also note that ten years ago, there were rude responses about a post singing their praises and skepticism that it veered from trip reports to "advertising". RS sings their praises, so I am guessing it's now acceptable.
Many thanks!
I don't feel comfortable posting that here, in this forum.
If you want to email me a note, I will gladly share that with you!
