I would suggest you consider using findtransfers.com.

You input your requirements and the site farms out your request to multiple transit/
shuttle companies, who can then respond with prices and you can check ratings
and decide who, if anyone, you want to go with. Payment is done direct with the
provider, outside the app. Could be credit card ahead of time, or cash to the driver,
etc.

Haven't used it in Italy, but it has worked great multiple times in the French Alps.

We just used day trip to get from rome to perugia, with a stop at an archeological site that my son really wanted to see (that was a bit off the beaten path and very cool). It was not cheap, but we decided last minute not to rent a car (best decision! Did not have to deal with parking). It actually cost a little less than renting a car. And we really didn't need a car.

I would recommend them. Very reliable and easy to use. And you can add sightseeing stops along the way

Driver never showed. Payment refunded to an account the company established. Not happy.

If you must take a private transfer due to luggage, age, number of people rather than the train, I would suggest asking your Bologna hotel to book the driver. I've never been disappointed relying on an Italian hotel. Good luck!

Late to the game, but i have used Daytrip 3-4 times. All went very well each time. I've noticed that it has become increasingly pricey... as all good things (and some bad things!) seem to have done.

Gettransfer send a email with car info. There was no name of the local company, if in fact there was one or it was just a driver they contracted with.

They did credit my credit card. Actually the taxi I eventually took was cheaper than the gettransfer rate.

GetTransfer attempted to bait-and-switch me in Germany/Switzerland. They cancelled the service on the day of a critical airport trip, and they immediately offered a replacement at over 3x the originally agreed price. You cannot offer a price for a service, broker acceptance of the payment, and then not provide the service unless a significantly higher price is paid at the very last second. This is a slimy bait-and-switch tactic that attempts to leverage customer urgency. I then had a frustrating back-and-forth with their 'service' department, and they finally agreed to refund the money...but then they never did, so I had to tell my credit card company to pull the funds back. Strong recommendation to never use this app.

I have also used daytrip several times. I find it a bit expensive but every time the driver was great, punctual and helpful.
