We are taking our son to Italy and will be spending 3-4 days in the Florence area (it's our first time there). He's a huge Da Vinci fan, and wants to soak up as much Da Vinci as he can. How do you get to Vinci from Florence? Is it a day trip? Longer or shorter than a day trip? Is it worth going to Vinci? Where else are there Da Vinci exhibits?

It's about a 90 minute bus ride and well worth it. Your son will love the little museum. Double check the bus schedule when you arrive- there are not too many in the evening.

I am also a DaVinci fan and while driving aimlessly around the countryside and just exploring I happened upon the town... didn't really even know anything about it. Does he have the book How to Think Like Leonardo DaVinci? He might enjoy it. For me, it was worth it.... just good energy there!
