getting to Venice from airport car rental drop off

Dropping off the car rental and then need to get to Venice. What is the best way? can I take bus #5? Do I walk to the terminal from the rental car drop off? Where do I buy a bus ticket? Thank you!

There are bus ticket machines at the bus stop.

But see if you can drop the car at Piazzale Roma, then you will already be where the #5 drops you off.
