Getting to Sorrento

I will be traveling from Fuscaldo to Sorrento. It appears my 2 best options are train to either Naples or Salerno, and then bus or train to Sorrento. Is this correct? Which would be the easiest for 2 55-60 yr olds w/ one roller and one backpack each. We will probably leave Fuscaldo in the a.m.

I would take the train to Naples then the commuter train to Sorrento. It's about an hour from Naples to Sorrento on the train. Donna

Naples is about an hour past Salerno by train, so it might make sense to get off at Salerno and take the bus to Amalfi and change to the bus for Sorrento. It's about an hour and 15 minutes to Amalfi and another hour and forty minutes to Sorrento. That way you would get to see the Amalfi Drive & Coast without having to back track to Sorrento. Schedules can be found at http://www.amalficoastweb.com/orari_sita_bus_timetables.html Granted, this may make sightseeing in Amalfi or Positano difficult because of your luggage but IMHO the drive eclipses the two towns. I neglected to mention that Paola, a town about 6 minutes from Fuscaldo by train, has good train service to Salerno, with train taking as little as 1:30. Check schedules at trenitalia.com
