Getting to Naples from fco

Hello
My 21 year old daughter will arrive Rome fco at 10:30am on wed 10/19
Problem is she needs to get to Naples
I think the best way would be for her to take an Italia flight which leaves at 2:30 on 10/19 abd arrives Naples at 3:30
Will it be hard for her to get her luggage and then check back in for another flight
The flight seems like a better option then the train
If she took the train she'd have to go from the airport to the Rome terminal and then from the Rome terminal to Naples so you're talking to train rides I'd like to keep things as simple as possible for her. Thank you

Air would be simple, but depending on connection time the train might be faster. She should check plane and train schedules to compare.

Assuming your daughter is coming from the US, the 2.30 flight is about right. It could take about two hours to get luggage and go through immigration. Try to book a single ticket to Naples so that her luggage is transferred in Rome. The train would not be faster. Since she is at the airport, she should fly.

Taking the Leonardo Express train is quick and easy with two trains per hour going into Rome Termini. It's only 16 miles.

From Rome Termini, she can take a fast train (with reservations) down to Naples--about 150 miles.

The train worries me because my daughter has never flown aboard by herself
So to go from fco to the Rome terminal would be easy I think
But then the Rome terminal is so big abd to get the train to Naples I think would be hard that's why flying seems easier

Is she flying Alitalia (or a partner) to FCO? If so maybe you should buy one single ticket all the way to NAP.
Going by train could be faster. The travel time, including the time necessary to transfer trains at Roma Termini is about 2 hours to Napoli Centrale.

These are the departures from the airport station after 10:30, all of which will place your daughter at Napoli Centrale before the airplane option:
11:08
11:53
12:08
12:53
13:23
13:53

Roma Termini is easy for transferring trains, walk to the front of the tracks (all on one level), check the electronic board for which track the train departs from, go to that tack snd board the correct carriage, find the correct seat.

But, if she prefers to fly, no problem with that, except that flight delays and gate changes are common.

You say you think it would be better if she flew. What does she think will be the better way? Why don't you have her sign on and do the research as she is 21 years old. She should be figuring this out herself. She is an adult. She needs to learn how to figure these things out on her own.

Sorry, I'm particularly cranky when parents do all the research for their adult kids. Part of being a young adult is learning on your own.

I agree with Wray.
She is going to Italy on her own. You won't be there to spoon feed her once she is there. She needs to be involved and learn how to deal with trains. I understand many Americans are more familiar with car and air travel than train travel, but she will have to get used to using trains and mass transit in Europe.

Wasn't looking for parenting advice I believe there are other sites for that topic.
Thank you to everyone else for your information

This is a wholly comprehensive consulting site.

We provide advice on all kind of topics here, including crime avoidance in Naples and alcohol abuse, which many young college age American kids engage in once they get to Italy, unsupervised by their parents, being alcohol very cheap and unrestricted.

There is no site around with the plethora of information we provide here, and for free.
