My wife and I are excited about a RS Village Italy tour we are taking this October. The tour ends at Orta San Giulio & we plan to stay an additional night in the area. Our flight is at noon from Linate.. Any advice on travel from Orta San Giulio to Linate would be appreciated.
Try taxi2airport.com, we are going to lake lugano and their fares were lower than other services. Otherwise the train and bus is the only way
Taxi2airport site does not list Orta San Giulio or Linate airport as an option. Other advice would be appreciated.
Each time we've visited Orta, we've had a car. Even then, there is a lot of traffic congestion that makes it take a while to get to the Autostrade. Remember, if you're flying at noon from Linate, you'll need to be at the airport by 10 am at the latest. Unless you can find a taxi, I think bus and train options will take too long. Sorry to write a downer post.
I just went on to the website and yes you can find it. It is 165 for 2-4 pasangers one way and 319 euro for round trip.
To check it out - enter PLACE and enter Orta San Guilio then further next column AIRPORT and find Milan Linate from the list then further and enter the # of passangers.
Let me know if this helps
Your guide on the RS tour will help you get to the airport.
I took the train into Milano and it was no problem at all.
Several people on my tour took shuttles and taxis all arranged by the guide.
The guides are wonderful and will ensure that you get to the proper airport on time for your flight.
Have a wonderful trip.
Village Italy was one of my favorite RS trips.
Thanks for the help!
