Getting to Lido de Venezia from train

Hi my husband & I are going to Venice for 2 days and I was wondering how long it takes to get from St. Lucia train station to the island of Lido and vice versa. We have to get on a train at St. Lucia at 7:20 a.m. We need to know how long it takes to get there from our hotel and what is the best way to get there (water bus, train...?)
Thanks so much!

There's a water bus station not far from the train station.. It will take you to the Lido and all points in between.. It's a great way to sight see and the ticket agents are very helpful. You can hop on and off at each stop as long as you have an all day ( or several day pass) The trip can take about a half an hour depending on travelers, but it's beautiful and your option to drop in a stop or two is great.. The Lido is lovely, peaceful and a complete change of scenery.. Ciao . Kate
P.S. Don't forget to "validate" your pass...

Isn't it wonderful to know that you are on an island some distance from the train station and you have an early train? We discovered that when we stayed at the Hilton on Giudecca. For us, we were lucky. For you, Lido is more distant and aside from water taxis that will run you up to 100 Euro, the vaporettos are slow. First, you will be able to judge how long it will take when you ride from the train station (Ferrovia stop on map)to Lido. The No. 1 vaporetto is the slowest as it's the local. It stops at each stop. I'm looking at the schedule and if you are near the Lido Nord stop, you can get on the No. 52 vaporetto at 6:12am. It will get you to the Ferrovia stop at 6:50am. Ferrovia will be your 7th stop. This run goes up the Giudecca canal which is faster than the Grand Canal. You have 30 minutes for your train. Don't worry. You are about 500 feet from the train and there is no TSA. Just validate your ticket and get on.

Here's more. Here's the 52 VAPORETTO SCHEDULE for you to review. Note that the vaporettos go in both directions. Make sure you print out the page link I've given you and when you get to the stop, look for the map that matches. If you are at another Lido stop, message back and I'll send you other options.
