Hello, we are looking for an option for a taxi once we get to Palermo (airport). We don’t want to take the train. Has anyone had any luck using any of the phone apps like Uber in Palermo? Or any other suggestions for a no hassle trip to our hotel? We do not want to take the train. Thank you!
We used "Welcome Pickups" in Istanbul and were quite pleased with the service. I do see they operate in Palermo.
I used this company last year and was happy.
Why not just go to the official taxi stand outside the terminal?
No need for special apps (no Uber in Italy)
Hand the driver your destination address on a slip of paper
No tip necessary
The train and bus are both very easy if you want to get in from the airport, but if you prefer to use an app, yes they do have Uber in Palermo (we used it recently).
Uber in Italy is Uber Black-a limo service, pricier than a regular taxi or typical Uber
Take an official taxi if you want door to door service.
I took a taxi when I arrived, and it was an excellent intro to the city. Even though it was more expensive than the train, I know I got a better first impression of the city & loved my time there. After five days in Palermo, on the way back to the airport, I just took the train.
