Getting to Foxtown on your own from Milan?

Hi there,
I am arriving to Milan and only have 1&1/2 day. I will arrive in Milan around 2pm and would like to go to Foxtown. The buses that go Foxtown all depart from Milan at 12 noon and return at 7pm. How can I get there on my own? Can someone help. Is taxi too expensive? Thanks

I see a Fox Town in Mendrisio, Switzerland that takes 1 - 1.5 hours by train from Milano Central station. A few are shorter and direct while the longer timings require a train connection at Chiasso. How to Look Up Train Schedules Online gives you the DB train schedule link and tips for using it.

On the outlet mall's information page http://www.foxtown.ch/info.php?lingua=en&centro=mendrisio on the right side the last three at the bottom shows how the Postbuses from the Italian border at Chiasso and the trains work to get you there.

It does look much easier by car.

How expensive is too expensive for a taxi? I suppose it boils down to how much you will be buying. If only a little or quite a lot, then the taxi will cost more than the savings, but if you are really intending to be a top spender then you may find the taxi helpful, especially to get all the bags and boxes back.

You will have to do the maths.
